Weekend of fun!

I know I was going to post more scrappy stuff or back to school pics but I decided to show you all of the fun from yesterday. This long weekend the town of St. Paul hosts a variety of events that are all related to the rodeo coming to town. Although we didn't take in the rodeo we did participate in the NEAT Track Club's annual rodeo mile run, the parde and the arm wrestling competition. These pictures are mostly for Iris as she had to go home to Bermuda and missed out on this annual fun stuff we usually do.

Here is Kaela stretching before the 1/4 mile fun race for kids. They close off main street in town and the kids get to run down the street. Kaela won a medal for first girl! (Keep in mind there were only about 7 kids that ran and it is for fun although we were still proud of her strong finish and how serious she took it all).



Mienna ran in the 1 mile run and although I'm not sure where she placed her time was 7 min & 51 seconds. This is her first time running in this so it will be interesting to see how she does next year if she trains a bit for it.

The race is followed by a town-wide parade where lots of candy is thrown to the kids. The end of the parade is always marked by the parde of fire trucks. By this time we are all feeling a bit sick from all of the sugar we've munched on.

Mienna helped out her cousin Baylee who races sprint cars with her parde entry by steering one of her race-sprint cars for her.

Then we went to the Rec Center where Tom was helping out with the arm wrestling competition. Mienna won first for her age category.... her arm was pretty tired and sore afterwards.

Cousin Andrew had to ref Mienna's matches and Dad had to sit back and watch. Cute!

Anyhow it has been a super lazy Sunday afternoon. We did not go to the usual Rodeo Beerfest. I'm still struggling with my throat and I decided to stay home and rest my voice. Hope everyone else had a great long weekend.
