Mienna's Super Duper Birthday!!

Mienna had such a fabulous day yesterday. Not only was it her 12th birthday but she also ran in her school division's cross-country race at Westcove. In her category she placed 1st (out of 66 girls). She was so happy and I was just nervous that she would break her neck flying down the trails that were so slippery from a previous rainfall.

After school we celebrated her birthday with all of the grandparents by having a weiner roast. It was such a beautiful Fall day! Perfect weather!

The beginning of the race. First they have to run across the sand and then up a steep hill (that is a boat launch). Afterwards the majority of the run is through trees.

Mienna is making a move to pass before the boat launch.. I believe the trail bottle-necks after the hill and passing in the trees is dangerous.

This picture is after coming out of the path through the trees and it is a flat grass area until the finish.

Mienna and her friend Allie!! Allie also placed top 10. These two are both super serious when it comes to running!
